The book traces the philosophy and emergence of urban co-operative credit Institutions in India and evaluates its performance over a period from 2008 to 2019 at the macro and micro levels. Book uses ratio analyses for relative performance evaluation among the different groups of banks and the multi-criteria decision-making technique of TOPSIS to identify the best performing UCBs on multiple ratios. Technical efficiency and total factor productivity of the UCBs are measured by the technique of Data Envelopment Analysis. It uses two indices to measure TFP growth, namely, Malmquist Index and Hicks-Moorsteen Index.
